As I always enjoyed working with my hands, just like pottery or playing guitar or tabla, working with wood drew my attention. I assumed that if I learnt woodworking, I might be able to do some fun projects, minor repairs in my home, and add another hobby to the growing list. This prompted me to take some classes in January 2026 at Atelier 365. If you are interested in woodworking, I highly recommend their beginner’s course.

I learned some theory on the basics of woodworking, and had many practical sessions to learn about types of joints, cuts, and various handheld tools. Below are some of the images of the small projects I learnt during the sessions.

Later, when I was preparing the room for our baby, I thought to put my new skills to work and created a few different types of wooden frames. Below are some images of the frames and the joints I prepared myself.

I am hoping to continue this new hobby in the future, so any new ideas/projects are welcome!
